The Aurelon Universe

Gates · Corruption · The Cycle Continues

A universe of ancient gates, patient corruption, and the civilizations that rise and fall between them.

The Universe

A house with no doors. A fire that remembers.

Somewhere beyond what the eye can reach, a universe sits inside a globe on a desk. Inside it, twelve planets orbit a false star. Civilizations rise. The corruption finds them. They fall. The cycle turns. It has always turned.

The Aurelon universe spans novels, campaign settings, and the spaces between — a shared cosmology where every story is connected by gates that open between worlds, a corruption that learns from everything it consumes, and a cycle that is older than anything living inside it.

The walls are thinner now. The hand that built them trembles.

Of Ashes and Light · Book One

The sky cracked open at midnight. The blacksmith burned. A boy walked out of the ashes carrying an axe that wasn't his and something cold behind his ribs that shouldn't be there. He's not a chosen one. He's the crack.

From the Prophecy of the Unbound

Before the light there was a hand,
and the hand built a house with no doors.
Inside the house the hand lit a fire
that was too much,
that broke.

About the Author

Jason Wilson

Novelist and tabletop storyteller. I've spent fifteen years building and running campaigns in the Aurelon setting — two long-running chronicles, dozens of shorter games, and a rotating cast of around thirty players whose questions and choices shaped the cosmology long before it became a book.

A Breaking: Of Ashes and Light is the culmination of those years: the characters I couldn't play as Dungeon Master, and the story that couldn't be finished at the table.

I live in Kentucky.
